Job Overview: As a Senior Data Engineer and Snowflake Administrator, you will drive the modern data platform architecture for a global organization. You will be responsible for designing scalable Snowflake solutions and orchestrating resilient Azure Data Factory (ADF) pipelines. This role is pivotal in translating complex analytics requirements into secure, high-performance cloud data ecosystems that enable reliable insights and responsible innovation across the enterprise.
Core Competencies
The candidate must demonstrate mastery in the following technical domains:
• Platform Expertise: Advanced Snowflake Administration, including virtual warehouse optimization, micro-partitioning, and multi-domain data sharing.
• Orchestration: Expert-level Azure Data Factory (ADF) design for large-scale ETL/ELT workloads.
• Cloud Ecosystem: Deep proficiency in Azure cloud services (Storage, Compute, Networking, and IAM).
• Data Modeling: Advanced SQL and specialized data modeling for cloud-native warehouses.
• Governance: Implementation of Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), data masking, and automated auditing protocols.
Key Responsibilities
• Architectural Leadership: Design end-to-end cloud data architectures utilizing Snowflake and ADF to deliver scalable, reliable analytics platforms.
• System Optimization: Define and maintain Snowflake standards, including warehouse structures and strategies to improve query performance while minimizing compute consumption.
• Pipeline Engineering: Develop robust ADF workflows to orchestrate complex ETL processes, ensuring accurate data movement from diverse source systems.
• Data Integrity: Establish comprehensive data quality frameworks, incorporating validation rules, monitoring, and reconciliation to safeguard curated data products.
• Cost Management: Monitor and fine-tune Snowflake resource utilization, managing storage and virtual warehouse configurations to ensure fiscal efficiency.
• Security & Compliance: Implement secure data access architectures that align with organizational governance controls and regulatory expectations.
• Technical Documentation: Produce high-fidelity architecture diagrams, design documents, and reference implementations to establish enterprise guardrails.
• Technical Oversight: Act as the escalation point for complex incident resolution and performance troubleshooting related to Snowflake and ADF pipelines.
Technical Depth & Standards
• Patterns: Implementation of advanced ELT patterns and set-based operations.
• Metadata Management: Integration of tools for data cataloging, lineage, and metadata transparency.
