Hybrid Every Other Week onsite / 5 days in Westlake, TX
Our client has an opportunity for a Data Engineer on a 12+ month contract. The role will design, develop, and support enterprise-scale data solutions that enable reporting, analytics, and business decision-making. The position requires strong SQL development, data modeling, ETL/ELT pipeline development, and cloud data experience within a collaborative Agile environment.
Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.
Rate: $60.00 to $70.00/hr. w2
Responsibilities
• Design, build, and support scalable data pipelines and ELT/ETL processes for analytics and reporting.
• Develop and optimize SQL across large data volumes and multiple platforms.
• Leverage AWS services such as EC2, S3, and EMR to enable cloud data solutions and data lake patterns.
• Implement data modeling and warehousing solutions aligned to enterprise standards.
• Build data integration to and from Snowflake using Python and Snowflake SQL.
• Collaborate within Agile teams to deliver high-quality data solutions and follow coding best practices.
• Use DevOps and migration tools to promote code through environments.
• Engage stakeholders and communicate progress, risks, and solutions.
Experience Requirements
• Proven experience delivering data solutions in a multi-developer Agile environment.
• Expert SQL with UNIX shell and Python scripting.
• Hands-on AWS experience (EC2, S3, EMR). Snowflake experience is a plus.
• Strong database and data warehousing concepts.
• Experience developing ELT/ETL pipelines, including Snowflake integrations.
• SQL performance optimization on large datasets.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with DevOps tools for code migrations and with JIRA and Agile practices.
• Control-M or similar scheduling tools experience is a plus.
• Strong communication skills to work with stakeholders.
