Role description
We are currently seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer / Analyst on behalf of a leading organisation in the energy sector. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic trading environment by developing and implementing robust data strategies that support commercial decision-making. Overview of the role: β€’ Lead the development and execution of data strategies for trading and commercial teams. β€’ Act as the key liaison between business stakeholders and IT, translating needs into technical solutions. β€’ Collaborate with digital and data engineering teams to shape data architecture and governance. β€’ Enhance data quality, lineage, and controls to ensure reliable insights. β€’ Support the integration of AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics tools. β€’ Promote best practices for data access, tooling, and workflows across teams. Required experience and skills: β€’ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Business, Economics, or related field. β€’ At least 3 years’ experience in data strategy, analytics, or data engineering, preferably within energy or trading sectors. β€’ Proficiency in SQL, Python, Databricks, Power BI, or similar tools. β€’ Experience with data pipelines, modelling, and modern analytics environments. β€’ Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with technical and non-technical teams. β€’ Digital-first mindset with an interest in automation and AI.
