π Data Engineer (Contract-to-Hire) | Microsoft Fabric Focus
We are seeking a Data Engineer to join a growing IT team focused on building modern, scalable data platforms within a Microsoft ecosystem. This is a 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity for someone passionate about data, innovation, and emerging technologiesβespecially Microsoft Fabric.
π What Youβll Do
β’ Design, build, and maintain modern data platforms (data lakes, warehouses, lakehouses)
β’ Develop and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using SQL, Python, and Spark
β’ Integrate data from multiple sources including SQL Server, Azure SQL, APIs, and flat files
β’ Create and maintain dimensional data models to support analytics and reporting
β’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams across ERP, CRM, WMS, and custom applications
β’ Enable advanced analytics and AI/ML through scalable data solutions
β’ Establish and enforce data standards, naming conventions, and governance practices
β’ Implement data security (access control, encryption, auditing)
β’ Participate in on-call support rotation for production systems
β’ Stay current on industry trends and introduce innovative solutions
π§ What Weβre Looking For
β’ 3-5+ years of experience in data engineering or related field
β’ Strong experience with:
β’ Python & SQL
β’ Azure Data Factory
β’ Azure Synapse Analytics
β’ Spark / PySpark
β’ Databricks
β’ Experience working within the Microsoft ecosystem
β’ Experience with Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Dataflows) preferred but not a must - Opportunity to work with and help shape the adoption of Microsoft Fabric as part of a modern, evolving data platform.
β’ Experience integrating with systems like Dynamics 365, CRM, WMS, or similar
β’ Strong understanding of data modeling (Kimball methodology preferred)
β’ Passion for learning, innovation, and emerging technologies
β’ Ability to collaborate with both technical and business stakeholders
