Data Engineer

Job Title: Data Engineer Location: 100% Onsite – Corning, NY Interview Process: 2 Rounds – Microsoft Teams Position Overview We are seeking a motivated Data Engineer (entry-level to 3 years experience) to support software and data solutions in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will possess foundational technical skills and a strong willingness to learn. This role involves developing and deploying operational technology applications, engaging with customers to understand business needs, and delivering scalable digital solutions to support manufacturing systems. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and implement software solutions for manufacturing equipment and system integration • Partner with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and support alignment with operational strategies • Support factory system integration including MES, SCADA, historian, and enterprise systems • Perform testing, troubleshooting, and validation to ensure system reliability • Provide technical assistance for integration issues and system deployments • Create and maintain documentation, including system configurations, procedures, and standards • Travel to manufacturing sites for software deployment and support (up to 25%, including international travel) Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field • 0–3 years of industry experience (manager is open to training on some technologies) • Familiarity with: • Data historians (preferably AVEVA PI) • Data visualization tools such as Power BI or equivalent software • Microsoft Power Apps • Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies • Relational databases and data analysis concepts • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and teamwork ability Preferred Qualifications • Exposure to industrial automation systems and standards (e.g., ISA-95, PLC, SCADA, MES, ERP, OPC, CMMS, historian systems) • Knowledge of message bus architectures and enterprise system integration • Experience in developing or maintaining enterprise-level applications Additional Requirements • Must be able to relocate to Corning, NY immediately • Travel up to 25%, including international travel
