About the Role
Proud to be partnered with a Retail Financial Services organisation who are seeking two Contract Data Engineers to design, build, and maintain secure, scalable data pipelines on AWS cloud. You will work with large-scale transactional and customer data, ensuring data integrity, performance, and compliance. This role requires hands-on expertise in AWS services and strong experience in financial data engineering.
Key Responsibilities
• Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for transactional, customer, and operational data.
• Design and implement data architectures and models optimised for analytics and reporting.
• Work extensively with AWS services, including:
• Amazon S3 – secure data storage
• AWS Glue – ETL processing
• Amazon Redshift / RDS – data warehousing
• AWS Lambda – serverless transformations
• AWS Athena / EMR – analytics and big data processing
• Ensure data quality, governance, and regulatory compliance (e.g., PCI DSS, GDPR).
Required Skills & Experience
• Proven experience as a Data Engineer, preferably in financial services or highly regulated industries.
• Strong proficiency with AWS cloud services (S3, Glue, Redshift, Lambda, Athena, EMR).
• Hands-on experience with Python, SQL, and Spark for ETL and analytics.
• Knowledge of data warehousing, data lakes, and large-scale data processing.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
