Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer III to join the Product Operations (ProdOps) team responsible for building and maintaining scalable data infrastructure that powers analytics and business decision-making. This role focuses on developing robust ETL/ELT pipelines, managing large-scale data processing, building production-ready data models, and enabling self-service analytics through dashboards and reporting solutions.
The ideal candidate will have strong SQL and Python expertise, hands-on experience with distributed data processing frameworks, and a solid understanding of data warehousing concepts. You will collaborate closely with Data Scientists, Product Managers, and cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality, reliable, and scalable data solutions.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines using orchestration and distributed data processing tools.
• Build and maintain production-grade data tables, ensuring proper documentation, governance, and service level agreements (SLAs).
• Develop dashboards and reporting solutions to support business intelligence and operational decision-making.
• Partner with Data Scientists, Product Managers, and cross-functional stakeholders to validate data quality and maintain metric integrity.
• Monitor pipeline health, troubleshoot data quality issues, and implement automated monitoring and alerting.
• Optimize SQL queries, data models, and pipeline performance for large-scale datasets.
• Support ad hoc data requests and enable self-service analytics for business partners.
• Maintain high standards for data accuracy, documentation, and operational excellence.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• 3+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, or a related role.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, including Presto, Hive, or SparkSQL.
• Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines using Airflow, Dataswarm, or similar orchestration tools.
• Strong programming experience with Python or a similar scripting language.
• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and dimensional data modeling.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with a focus on data quality.
Preferred Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering.
• Experience working with Spark, Hadoop, or other distributed data processing frameworks.
• Experience with BI and dashboarding tools such as Tableau, Unidash, or similar platforms.
• Knowledge of logging, monitoring, and instrumentation frameworks.
• Experience with version control systems such as Git or Mercurial.
• Previous experience working in a large technology company.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
