Role description
Capabilities:
• Mastery of legacy and modern data modeling techniques from Star Schemas to one-big-table/OBT
• Strong understanding of data quality principles and validation techniques.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Capability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences both in written and verbal form.
• Willingness to monitor the stability and status of data pipelines, applying fixes as needed, in support of the business.
• Develop and maintain T-SQL stored procedures for data processing and transformation.
• Participate in code reviews and maintain documentation for data pipelines/processes.
• Architect backend databases for you in enterprise applications.
Soft Skills:
• Strong communication skills with the ability to provide summarized advice and direction to the stakeholders.
• Ego Free collaborator who works excellently within the team environment. I am not looking for an individual contributor who will work alone. I need someone who can solve conflict if/when it arises.
Hard Skills:
• T-SQL/SQL – specifically, the ability to write and read DDL, DCL, DML, DTL for things like tables, views, indexed views, stored procedures, functions (table value and scalar)
• Python Language for Scripting
• Python Packages: pandas, boto3, requests
• Experience working with data from various sources and in various formats, including flat files/CSV, REST APIs, Excel files, JSON, XML, etc.
Technologies:
• Microsoft SQL Server
• Git – branches, pull requests, peer reviews
• Amazon Web Services/AWS
