Weβre supporting a specialty insurance organization thatβs expanding its Data & Analytics team and looking to add a Senior Data & Analytics Engineer with strong Azure and SQL engineering experience. This is a high-impact role focused on building data marts, developing scalable pipelines, and enabling analytics across critical business domains.
This team is modernizing the entire data ecosystem β great chance to step into a growing function and shape the data strategy moving forward.
What Youβll Do
β’ Design, develop, and support data marts that serve underwriting, claims, actuarial, and operational analytics.
β’ Build and orchestrate Azure Data Factory (ADF) pipelines to ingest and transform large datasets from the enterprise warehouse.
β’ Develop T-SQL stored procedures, views, and transformations for high-performance data processing.
β’ Partner closely with Data Analytics teams to build and maintain Power BI semantic models and DAX-based KPIs.
β’ Ensure data quality, lineage, and consistency across large-scale environments.
β’ Improve performance, optimize cloud data workloads, and strengthen governance.
β’ Produce clear documentation for data models, logic, and technical processes.
β’ Stay current with Azure and data engineering best practices to support continuous improvement.
What Weβre Looking For
β’ 5+ years in data engineering, BI development, or analytics engineering roles.
β’ Deep hands-on expertise with:
β’ Microsoft T-SQL
β’ Azure Synapse Analytics
β’ Azure Data Factory
β’ Power BI (semantic modeling a plus)
β’ Strong understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and data mart architecture.
β’ Experience building pipelines, optimizing SQL, and supporting analytics teams.
β’ Ability to work cross-functionally with business, data, and technical stakeholders.
β’ Background in P&C insurance data (policy, claims, underwriting, actuarial) is highly preferred, but not mandatory for strong technical candidates.
β’ Experience working with enterprise insurance data models (ACORD, IBM, etc.) is a plus.
