Role description
Rate: Competitive day rate Location: Remote Contract: 3 months Start date: ASAP Overview of the Data Engineer role Sellick Partnership is supporting an organisation within the financial services sector to recruit two experienced Data Engineers on a contract basis. This is a short-term project focused on enhancing and rebuilding key data extract processes within a pricing function, supporting efficient data delivery and reporting. Key responsibilities of the Data Engineer will include • Rewriting and optimising complex SQL code • Building and transforming data extracts into structured output files • Reviewing and refining query execution plans • Supporting the development and execution of Azure Data Factory pipelines • Managing code through version control systems such as GIT • Working closely with pricing stakeholders to deliver against project requirements • Ensuring all code is tested, validated, and production ready Required experience/qualifications of the Data Engineer position will include • Advanced SQL experience, including dynamic SQL and code optimisation • Strong understanding of query execution plans and performance tuning • Experience working in data engineering or project-based delivery environments • Exposure to Azure Data Factory and pipeline execution • Experience using Azure DevOps, including boards and repositories • Knowledge of GIT or similar version control tools • Proven ability to deliver against defined timelines and project deliverables Desirable experience: • Previous experience working within pricing or insurance data environments How to apply for the Data Engineer position If you believe you have the required experience and are available for a short-term contract, please apply within.
