About The Role
Join a centralized Data Platforms team supporting a Fortune Broadcast Media & Entertainment organization. As a Data Engineer, you will play a hands-on role in building and evolving the software and data services that power a modern, enterprise data platform. This position is ideal for someone with a strong backend engineering mindset, comfortable developing production-grade services in Node.js and TypeScript, and leveraging Python and SQL for data transformation, validation, and operational workflows. You will have high ownership and influence over system design, engineering standards, and data reliability, working within a collaborative, large-scale enterprise environment that values strong engineering fundamentals and thoughtful design.
What You'll Do
• Design, build, and maintain production-grade data platform services and workflows using Node.js and TypeScript
• Develop scalable data ingestion, transformation, and access patterns for enterprise data products
• Leverage Python and SQL for transformation logic, validation, and operational workflows
• Partner with platform and governance teams to support data contracts, schema evolution, metadata, lineage, and data quality expectations
• Build reusable abstractions and components to ensure reliable, compliant data handling
• Write clean, testable, production-grade code with a strong emphasis on automated testing
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment practices for safe, repeatable releases
• Troubleshoot and improve system performance, reliability, and maintainability
• Participate in design and code reviews to raise engineering quality across the team
• Collaborate effectively with engineering and non-engineering stakeholders across the organization
What You Bring
• 3-5+ years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, or data platform engineering roles
• Strong proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript in production environments
• Working proficiency in Python and SQL for data workflows and operational use cases
• Solid foundation in software engineering fundamentals, including object-oriented design, design patterns, and API/service design
• Experience building production-grade systems supporting data ingestion, transformation, and access
• Strong testing discipline, including unit, integration, and mocked end-to-end testing
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices
• Familiarity with lakehouse architectures, ELT patterns, and data platform concepts
• Comfortable operating with high ownership in a fast-moving, enterprise environment
