Overview
We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to design and build data integration from Guidewire Insurance Now cloud platform into Snowflake. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in dbt-driven transformation, dimensional and agnostic data modeling, and unifying data from multiple transactional systems into trusted, analytics-ready datasets.
You will work closely with analytics, BI, and business stakeholders to ensure data is accurate, well-modeled, and optimized for reporting and insight generation.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, Build and manage data transformations using dbt ((Data Build Tool), following analytics engineering best practices
• Design agnostic, reusable data models that unify data from multiple transactional source systems
• Develop and maintain dimensional models, fact tables, and semantic layers optimized for BI and reporting tools
• Ensure data quality, testing, documentation, and lineage using dbt and related tooling
• Optimize Snowflake performance and cost through efficient modeling, partitioning, and query design
• Collaborate with data analysts, BI developers, and business stakeholders to translate reporting needs into scalable data models
• Support production pipelines, troubleshoot data issues, and continuously improve reliability and maintainability
Required Qualifications
• Strong experience building analytics and reporting data layers in Snowflake
• Hands-on expertise with dbt for data transformation, testing, and documentation
• Proven experience merging and modeling data from multiple transactional systems into unified, source-agnostic data models
• Solid understanding of dimensional modeling, analytics engineering, and data warehousing principles
• Proficiency in SQL and data transformation best practices
• Experience designing models that support self-service analytics and reporting
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working in modern analytics stacks and cloud data platforms
• Familiarity with BI tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI) and semantic modeling concepts
• Knowledge of data governance, data quality frameworks, and analytics observability
• Experience collaborating in cross-functional, analytics-driven teams
