Role description
Overview We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to design and build data integration from Guidewire Insurance Now cloud platform into Snowflake. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in dbt-driven transformation, dimensional and agnostic data modeling, and unifying data from multiple transactional systems into trusted, analytics-ready datasets. You will work closely with analytics, BI, and business stakeholders to ensure data is accurate, well-modeled, and optimized for reporting and insight generation. Key Responsibilities • Design, Build and manage data transformations using dbt ((Data Build Tool), following analytics engineering best practices • Design agnostic, reusable data models that unify data from multiple transactional source systems • Develop and maintain dimensional models, fact tables, and semantic layers optimized for BI and reporting tools • Ensure data quality, testing, documentation, and lineage using dbt and related tooling • Optimize Snowflake performance and cost through efficient modeling, partitioning, and query design • Collaborate with data analysts, BI developers, and business stakeholders to translate reporting needs into scalable data models • Support production pipelines, troubleshoot data issues, and continuously improve reliability and maintainability Required Qualifications • Strong experience building analytics and reporting data layers in Snowflake • Hands-on expertise with dbt for data transformation, testing, and documentation • Proven experience merging and modeling data from multiple transactional systems into unified, source-agnostic data models • Solid understanding of dimensional modeling, analytics engineering, and data warehousing principles • Proficiency in SQL and data transformation best practices • Experience designing models that support self-service analytics and reporting Preferred Qualifications • Experience working in modern analytics stacks and cloud data platforms • Familiarity with BI tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI) and semantic modeling concepts • Knowledge of data governance, data quality frameworks, and analytics observability • Experience collaborating in cross-functional, analytics-driven teams
