Data Engineer

Our client, a leading provider of gas and petroleum, is hiring a remote Refinery Data Engineer to join their team! • This is a 8-month W2 contract with benefits offered! • In this role, you will extract and organize equipment and instrumentation data from refinery P&IDs and engineering documents to build structured asset hierarchies within the PI Asset Framework. You will map instruments to PI tags, validate data accuracy, and collaborate with refinery teams to ensure reliable integration of real-time process data across systems. Responsibilities: • Scrape and interpret refinery P&IDs and equipment data sheets to identify and catalog assets such as pumps, compressors, reactors, exchangers, and instrumentation. • Map refinery instruments to PI tags and PI Asset Framework attributes to build structured equipment hierarchies and support real-time operational data. • Validate equipment identifiers, tag numbers, and signal paths while partnering with refinery engineers to resolve documentation discrepancies and ensure accurate asset data.
