Role description
Contract Data Engineer – Matillion / Snowflake UK (Remote) Up to £500 per day | Outside IR35 3-month contract We’re seeking a hands-on Contract Data Engineer to support and maintain Matillion–Snowflake data pipelines, ensuring business-critical data continues to flow reliably during a wider platform upgrade. This is a delivery-focused role, ideal for someone who can hit the ground running and take ownership of BAU data engineering work with minimal ramp-up. What you’ll be doing: • Building, maintaining, and enhancing Matillion ETL/ELT pipelines • Developing and optimising Snowflake tables, views, and transformations • Tuning performance and warehouse usage for efficiency and cost control • Owning day-to-day pipeline reliability, fixes, and small enhancements • Monitoring data quality and resolving pipeline failures • Collaborating closely with the existing Data Engineering team • Keeping documentation up to date and ensuring a clean handover What we’re looking for: • Strong hands-on experience with Matillion and Snowflake • Solid data modelling and performance optimisation skills • Comfortable owning BAU workloads and operational support • Able to work independently while fitting into established standards If you’re a pragmatic Data Engineer who enjoys hands-on delivery and keeping data platforms running smoothly, we’d love to hear from you.
