Position Title: Data Governance Analyst (Data Deletion & Compliance)

Position Description
We are seeking a Data Governance Analyst with strong expertise in data analysis, data governance, and project management to support enterprise-wide data deletion and compliance initiatives. This role plays a critical part in ensuring secure, compliant, and risk-mitigated data lifecycle management aligned with regulatory and organizational policies.
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional who thrives in cross-functional environments and can effectively translate governance requirements into actionable processes for technical and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
• Support the execution of Enterprise Data Governance programs, with a focus on secure and permanent data deletion
• Collaborate with stakeholders to design and implement data deletion controls, policies, and procedures aligned with governance frameworks
• Partner with technical product owners, data teams, and business units to gather requirements and guide data deletion intake processes
• Ensure compliance with data retention, regulatory, and risk management policies
• Establish and maintain data governance controls to mitigate risks and address evolving organizational needs
• Develop and track metrics, KPIs, and reporting dashboards to measure effectiveness of data governance initiatives
• Provide training, oversight, and support to stakeholders involved in approving, auditing, and executing data deletion processes
• Participate in compliance reviews and audits, ensuring adherence to enterprise standards
• Communicate governance standards, policies, and procedures clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
Required Skills / Education
• 3+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, or Data Analysis
• Strong understanding of data lifecycle management, data retention, and deletion policies
• Proven experience in project management and stakeholder collaboration
• Hands-on experience with data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK, enterprise governance models)
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data concepts into business-friendly language
• Experience working with cross-functional teams, including IT, Risk, Compliance, and Business Units
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Experience supporting compliance, audit, or risk management initiatives
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Alation)
• Knowledge of regulatory standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, data privacy laws)
• Familiarity with data quality, metadata management, and data stewardship practices
