Role description
BIICS, Inc is looking to fill a Data Governance Analyst position. The position is located in Tallahassee, Florida and work is onsite.
Responsibilities:
Perform data requests and respond to data-related questions on behalf of the Bureau of Epidemiology.
Provide epidemiologic and analytic support to develop surveillance data products within the Department’s Bureau of Epidemiology.
Conduct system evaluations in collaboration with Department staff.
Review and analyze data governance policies and procedures.
Conduct feasibility and data quality assessments and improvements.
Work alongside the Department’s Data Governance Lead to implement data standards, policies, and procedures.
Create and maintain documentation, such as data dictionaries, coding libraries, data flow diagrams, etc.
Train and educate employees on data management and governance procedures.
Perform additional assignments as requested by the Department.
Potential candidate must possess the following:
Data Science Experience:
Master's degree in public health.
At least one year of experience in data management that utilizes a data governance framework to ensure data reliability and integrity.
At least one year of experience identifying, assessing, and resolving data quality issues.
Experience in adhering to and communicating data ethics and compliance.
Experience with designing data systems and platforms that support data governance objectives and principles.
Two years of experience utilizing data programming and data visualization software, such as R, SAS, SQL, Python, Qlik, Tableau, and Power BI.
Experience in performing analyses, evaluation of systems, projects, and programs.
Two years of experience in data collection, data analysis techniques, data management and processing.
Knowledge of data privacy and data security.
Two years of experience in data extraction, manipulation, and transformation.
Two years of experience in the last five years with the Microsoft Office Suite; including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Preferred:
Advanced skills in Excel and power query preferred.
