Role description
We are seeking a Data Governance Analyst to support the implementation and ongoing maturity of the organisation’s Data Governance framework. This role will play a key part in establishing effective data ownership, improving trust in critical data, and supporting the wider business with metadata management, data quality monitoring, and data quality issue management. The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders across business areas and data domains to embed governance standards, improve data literacy, and ensure data assets are well understood, monitored, and managed effectively. Contract Information β€’ Role Title: Data Governance Analyst β€’ Location: Milton Keynes β€’ Working Pattern: Hybrid – 2 to 3 days onsite per week β€’ Duration: 22/07/2026 - 31/12/2026 β€’ Engagement Type: Inside IR35 Required Skills and Experience β€’ Previous experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Data Quality, or a related data role. β€’ Strong understanding of Data Governance principles, including data ownership, stewardship, metadata, data quality, and data accountability. β€’ Experience working with data catalogue, metadata management, or data quality tools. β€’ Ability to work with business stakeholders to understand data challenges and translate them into practical governance actions. β€’ Experience supporting data quality monitoring, data quality rules, thresholds, and reporting. β€’ Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills. β€’ Ability to explain data governance concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. β€’ Strong attention to detail with a structured and organised approach to documentation and reporting. β€’ Confident producing governance metrics, status updates, and reports for senior stakeholders. β€’ Ability to support training, tool adoption, and user guidance across the business.
