Data Governance Analyst

Position Title: Data Governance Analyst Employment Type: Contract Position Description Seeking a detail-oriented Data Governance Analyst to support the implementation and ongoing management of the organization’s data governance framework within the Enterprise Data Management program. This role involves ensuring data assets are accurately defined, cataloged, and governed in accordance with enterprise standards, regulatory requirements, and business objectives. The ideal candidate will collaborate effectively with data stewards, business stakeholders, and technical teams to maintain data quality, enforce governance policies, and enable trusted data for analytics and operations. Key responsibilities include operationalizing data governance processes, supporting data catalog updates, facilitating stewardship activities, and monitoring compliance. The role requires strong communication skills to explain complex governance concepts, keen attention to detail, and proficiency in SQL and data analysis tools to assess and improve data quality. Top Requirements • 3-5 years of experience in data analysis, requirements gathering, and data governance practices • 3-5 years of hands-on experience with intermediate to advanced SQL skills • 2+ years supporting data catalog updates, glossary management, and basic data quality checks • 2+ years supporting governance processes, compliance monitoring, and stewardship activities Preferred Skills • Proficiency with data governance tools such as Microsoft Purview or Informatica EDC • Experience with metadata management, data lineage documentation, and data cataloging • Knowledge of Azure Data Services and data security concepts including encryption and data masking • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently About Seneca Resources At Seneca Resources, we are more than just a staffing and consulting firm, we are a trusted career partner.
