Role description
Data Governance Analyst
• Rate: Up to £350
• Location: Hybrid working from London or Manchester
• Duration: INitial 6 months
Sanderson are currently supporting a leading UK retailer in the search for a Data Governance Analyst to join their established Data Governance function.
With an increasing volume of project activity and data-related requests across the business, this role will help ensure customer and sensitive business data is used appropriately, securely and in line with GDPR obligations.
You'll review and challenge data usage requests, chair governance forums, support data protection activities and work closely with stakeholders across technology, security and business teams.Key responsibilities
• Chair Data Clinic meetings and review project requests involving customer and business data.
• Assess and approve data usage requests relating to access, retention, security and processing.
• Support GDPR compliance, data incident investigations and governance activities.
• Maintain governance documentation, policies and reporting.
• Work with stakeholders across the business to identify risks and improve governance processes.
• Deliver training and guidance on data governance best practice.About you
• Experience in Data Governance, Data Privacy, Information Governance or Data Protection.
• Good understanding of GDPR and the Data Protection Act.
• Experience operating within a large, complex organisation.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the confidence to challenge constructively.
• Comfortable translating technical concepts for non technical audiences.
• Understanding of AI and Large Language Models would be beneficial.
