Role description
Below is the job description for the position: Position Title: Data Governance Analyst Location: New York, NY (Fully Onsite) Duration: 2 Years (Long-Term Contract) 1. Minimum Candidate Qualifications The candidate must have: β€’ a. A minimum of 5 years of experience in data governance. β€’ b. 5 years of experience in compiling and computing data using statistical formulas for data analytics and/or statistical studies. β€’ c. At least 1 year of experience with Virtual Currency or Cryptocurrency. β€’ d. A Bachelor’s Degree. β€’ e. Proof of eligibility to work in New York State (NYS). 1. Job Description and Required Services Duties include, but are not limited to: β€’ Work cross-functionally with various teams to analyze and validate financial call reports and capitalization data. β€’ Maintain existing data warehouse workflows, including monitoring data quality and preparing data quality reports for the DFS Virtual Currency Transaction Monitoring Program. β€’ Support the Data Steward for the Research & Innovation Division in data governance functions, including data quality, data cataloging, and related data governance activities. β€’ Coordinate with data team stakeholders, gather work items, and prepare reports and presentations as needed. β€’ Collaborate closely with data stakeholders across the Research & Innovation and Technology Divisions to drive assigned projects and initiatives. β€’ Conduct data analysis on datasets and related processes; prepare data definitions, document usage, and develop business requirements. β€’ Compile and compute data using statistical formulas for use in statistical studies; may perform model calculations and create charts and graphs for R&I staff. β€’ Work with complex datasets to understand issues and recommend solutions and procedures using diverse analytical and statistical approaches. β€’ Utilize technical expertise to automate manual processes and reporting. β€’ Collaborate with business users and business analysts to develop analytical strategies for integration into various projects. β€’ Perform other duties as assigned. Required Skills and Abilities β€’ Strong data analysis skills. β€’ Proficiency in data visualization. β€’ Advanced Excel skills (including advanced formulas, macros, etc.). β€’ Expertise in relational database management systems, SQL, Python, and SnowSQL. β€’ Experience using GitHub for version control and project management. β€’ Experience with data platforms for data quality and metadata management (e.g., Informatica, Collibra, Alation). β€’ Experience with modern cloud technologies such as Salesforce and Snowflake. β€’ Ability to develop metrics, reports, and presentations.
