Role description
As the Data Governance Analyst, you will be responsible for the following:
Responsibilities:
β’ Develop and implement data governance policies and procedures.
β’ Monitor data quality and identify improvement opportunities.
β’ Collaborate with data owners and stewards to uphold data standards.
β’ Create and maintain data dictionaries and metadata repositories.
β’ Support compliance with regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and resolve data-related issues.
β’ Respond to requests for assistance related to internally developed SQL processes.
β’ Troubleshoot data-related questions by reviewing SQL procedures and identifying optimizations or advising processes from internal app development.
β’ Collect and document requirements on Data development initiatives from business stakeholders.
β’ Collaborate with Business Intelligence and Data Engineering team to write SQL queries for ad-hoc inquiries or integration into store procedures.
β’ Customarily and regularly identifies, analyzes, and interprets trends or patterns in complex data sets.
β’ Utilizes version control tools to maintain a structured and organized workflow; collaborates with the development team and follows best practices to ensure proper documentation, testing, and deployment.
β’ Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
β’ 5+ years of Data Governance Analyst with SQL programming, database systems, and Data analysis work experience.
β’ Experience working in SOX and PCI/PII environments
β’ Highly organized individual with excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills, and ability to work collaboratively with various cross- functional teams.
β’ Computer / Technical Skills:
β’ Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word, and Excel.
β’ Experience working with Databricks, AWS S3, Azure
β’ T-SQL Programming
β’ Bachelorβs Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a combination of education and equivalent work experience in a related field required.
