Responsibilities
β’ Define and enforce data quality rules across ingestion pipelines and data catalogues.
β’ Set up and manage enterprise data catalogues β metadata, lineage, and asset classification.
β’ Recommend and implement data governance tools suited to the organisation.
β’ Engage business users across units to co-design governance guardrails and policies.
β’ Drive data mastering strategy from ingestion through to consumption.
β’ Establish data ownership and stewardship models across domains.
β’ Champion data governance as a strategic business enabler β articulating the value of trusted, well-governed data in driving better decisions, reducing risk, and improving operational efficiency.
β’ Liaise with business unit leaders and key stakeholders to build awareness and buy-in for governance initiatives, translating technical standards into business-relevant outcomes.
β’ Act as a governance advocate across the organisation β conducting working sessions, training, and roadshows to embed a data-ownership culture at every level of the business.
Requirements
β’ 10+ years in data governance, data management, or data engineering.
β’ Hands-on with DQ rule definition, data catalogue setup, and ingestion pipeline governance.
β’ Experienced in evaluating and deploying DG platforms (Purview, Collibra, Alation, etc.).
β’ Strong communicator β able to translate governance concepts for business stakeholders.
β’ Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and MDM principles.
