Data Governance Lead

The Data Governance Lead is responsible for building and leading a comprehensive data governance program that ensures trusted, accurate, and well-understood data across the organization. In a retail environment driven by data and technology, this role will establish the standards, ownership, and accountability needed to ensure data is reliable, consistently applied in business and technical solutions, and used responsibly at scale. This role partners closely with business leaders, product teams, technology, analytics, and security to define who owns data, how it is governed, and how it can be confidently used to power decision-making and customer experiences. Qualifications Required 5+ years of experience in data governance, data management, analytics, or related data/technology roles Proven experience designing and implementing data governance programs in complex organizations Strong understanding of data quality, metadata management, data lineage, and master/reference data concepts Experience working in retail, e-commerce, consumer, or data-driven environments Ability to translate complex data concepts into clear, actionable guidance for both technical and non-technical audiences Preferred Experience supporting cloud data platforms and modern analytics ecosystems Familiarity with data governance tools and cataloging platforms Experience supporting AI/ML, advanced analytics, or product-driven data use cases Knowledge of data privacy and regulatory considerations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA)
