Data Governance SME

Candidates must be open to potential travel to NYC, IL, or TX on an occasional need. Lead the adaptation and implementation of the existing data governance framework from the D.EX platform to cover US data assets (currently on DAP) during the merger of two data platforms (DAP using Microsoft Fabric and D.EX using Databricks). Ensure governance principles, policies, and processes are consistently applied across the integrated environment. Key Responsibilities · Assess & Adapt Governance Framework: Review the current D.EX governance model and tailor it for US-specific requirements and data assets. · Define Governance Policies & Processes: Establish clear rules for data ownership, stewardship, quality, and compliance for US data within the merged platform. · Implement Governance Controls: Ensure proper metadata management, cataloging, and data lineage practices are applied to US datasets. · Coordinate with Stakeholders: Work closely with US business units, data platform teams, and global governance leads to align governance practices. · Monitor & Report Compliance: Track adherence to governance standards and escalate issues as needed. Required Skills & Experience · Strong expertise in data governance principles, policies, and frameworks · Experience in data platform governance (preferably in environments using Microsoft Fabric and/or Databricks) · Ability to design and operationalize governance models in complex, multi-platform environments · Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills · Comfortable working in large-scale integration projects with cross-regional teams.
