Data Quality Analyst / Databricks Implementation Specialist Role Overview We are seeking a highly collaborative and detail-oriented Data Quality Analyst / Databricks Implementation Specialist to help scale our enterprise data governance and Lakehouse strategy. This role sits at the intersection of business and technology, translating data requirements into trusted, well-governed data products within the Databricks ecosystem. You will partner with data stewards, domain owners, and engineering teams to improve data quality, standardize critical data elements (CDEs), and operationalize governance practices using Databricks Unity Catalog. This is a hands-on role focused on enabling high-quality, reliable data that drives confident business decisions. What You’ll Do Drive Data Quality Excellence • Define, implement, and continuously improve data quality rules for critical data elements (CDEs) • Perform data profiling, anomaly detection, and root-cause analysis across domains • Establish data quality KPIs, monitor trends, and track remediation efforts • Partner with business stakeholders to align on definitions, thresholds, and quality expectations Enable Databricks & Unity Catalog Adoption • Support the implementation and scaling of Databricks Unity Catalog across business domains • Help onboard data domains into the Medallion (Bronze, Silver, Gold) architecture • Embed data quality controls, lineage, and ownership into pipelines and workflows • Apply and maintain data classification, tagging, and access control standards Bridge Business & Technical Teams • Collaborate closely with data stewards and domain owners to translate business needs into governed datasets • Facilitate working sessions to align on data definitions, KPIs, and semantic consistency • Promote adoption of enterprise data standards and governance best practices Strengthen Metadata & Lineage • Maintain accurate, complete, and business-friendly metadata in the enterprise catalog • Ensure clear documentation of CDEs, KPIs, and domain-level data products • Validate end-to-end data lineage from source to consumption layers Investigate & Resolve Data Issues • Troubleshoot data quality issues raised by stakeholders and downstream consumers • Perform impact analysis for schema or pipeline changes • Partner with engineering teams to implement sustainable fixes and prevent recurrence What You Bring Required Qualifications • 3–5 years of experience in data quality, data governance, or data analysis • Hands-on experience with Databricks, Delta Lake, or similar cloud data platforms • Strong understanding of data quality frameworks, profiling, and validation techniques • Experience working with data catalogs or governance tools • Advanced SQL skills and strong analytical capabilities • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate between business and technical audiences Preferred Qualifications • Experience with Databricks Unity Catalog and Lakehouse architecture • Familiarity with the Medallion (Bronze/Silver/Gold) data model • Exposure to data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA, DCAM) • Experience working with data stewards, data owners, or domain-driven data teams • Understanding of data modeling, semantic layers, or BI tools
