Seeking a Data Governance Analyst that has at least 3-5 years of hands-on experience with data governance, data management, analytics to partner with business stakeholders, including data owners and stewards, to define, govern, and maintain enterprise data glossary terms and key metrics.
Role: Data Governance Analyst
Duration: 6 Months (Contract to Hire)
Location: ONSITE (5 Days ONSITE ColumbGahanna Ohio area)
W2 Candidates - No Sponsorship
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Partner with business stakeholders to define, approve, and maintain business terms, data definitions, and key metrics.
• Create and maintain business glossaries, data dictionaries, metadata, and related documentation using data governance tools such as Microsoft Purview.
• Support enterprise data governance standards, policies, and best practices.
• Help establish and reinforce data ownership and stewardship responsibilities across business areas.
• Perform data profiling activities and support data quality initiatives by identifying issues and tracking remediation efforts.
• Assist with the development and execution of data retention and archival policies.
• Support data classification efforts and promote appropriate data security practices.
• Facilitate governance meetings, workshops, and cross-functional discussions to align stakeholders.
• Ensure governance standards and business definitions are consistently applied across reporting, analytics, and operational processes.
• Identify opportunities to improve data quality, consistency, accessibility, and trust across systems and teams.
• Maintain an understanding of company goals while adhering to established policies, standards, and procedures.
Required Skills and Experience:
•
• 2.5+ years of experience in data governance, data management, analytics, business intelligence, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of data governance principles, data quality management, metadata management, and data stewardship practices.
• Experience working with business stakeholders to define, manage, and govern enterprise data.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Purview or similar data governance platforms is preferred.
• Strong communication, documentation, organizational, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to clearly explain data concepts and governance requirements to both technical and non-technical audiences.
