Data Mapper / Business Analyst – Life Assurance & Annuities

We are trusted by some of the most reputable and established FinTech Firms. Recently, our team has spearheaded the Conversion & Go Live of apps which support the backbone of the Financial Trading Industry. We are seeking a hands-on Business/Technical Analyst with strong expertise in Life Insurance and ACORD Life & Annuity data mapping. This role is critical in translating complex business requirements into precise data mappings, documentation, and technical specifications. The ideal candidate is a doer comfortable rolling up their sleeves to analyze data, create mapping specifications, and work directly with engineers and business stakeholders. We are looking for a Business Analyst who can, but not limited to, the following: • Analyze and map ACORD XMLs, JSON, flat files, and legacy data into target logical models. • Conduct gap analysis between ACORD standards, source data, and target BRx models. • Develop data mapping specifications, transformation rules, and validation requirements. • Collaborate with engineering teams to define API specifications (Kafka, JSON, XML, Postgres). • Create and maintain data mapping workbooks, schemas, and technical documentation. • Participate in stability reviews, non-functional requirements, and end-to-end validation. • Support QA with test scenarios, regression test inputs, and validation scripts. • Facilitate workshops and work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment. Qualifications • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. • 7–10 years’ experience as a Business Analyst or Technical Analyst in Insurance/Annuities. • Hands-on expertise with ACORD Life & Annuity standards and data mapping. • Strong knowledge of data models, XML, JSON, flat files, and relational databases (SQL/Postgres). • Experience producing detailed mapping workbooks and technical specifications. • Familiarity with Kafka topics, API integrations, and data workflows. • Proficiency with JIRA, Confluence, Agile/Scrum methodologies.
