Program Manager Data Center Migration to Cloud 6 Months contract+ Role Summary
The Program Manager will lead large-scale Data Center migration initiatives to Cloud (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform), driving strategy, execution, risk governance, stakeholder alignment, and business continuity. This role ensures seamless transition of infrastructure, applications, and data from on-premises environments to secure, scalable, cloud-native architectures. Key Responsibilities
Program Strategy & Governance
Define cloud migration roadmap and phased transition plan
Establish governance framework, milestones, and KPIs
Align migration strategy with business, security, and compliance objectives
Manage program budget, forecasting, and financial tracking
Migration Planning & Execution
Lead assessment of current data center landscape (applications, servers, storage, network)
Define migration approach (Rehost, Replatform, Refactor, Retire, Retain)
Coordinate infrastructure, security, DevOps, and application teams
Ensure minimal downtime and business continuity during cutover
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
Engage executive stakeholders and provide regular status reporting
Manage third-party vendors and cloud service providers
Drive cross-functional collaboration across IT, Security, Compliance, and Business units
Risk & Compliance Management
Identify migration risks and mitigation strategies
Ensure regulatory compliance (SOC2, ISO, HIPAA, etc. if applicable)
Oversee disaster recovery and backup strategy in cloud environment
Cloud & Infrastructure Oversight
Oversee cloud infrastructure design (Networking, IAM, Security Groups)
Drive Infrastructure as Code (IaC) adoption
Ensure observability, monitoring, and performance optimization
Optimize cost through FinOps best practices
Change Management & Communication
Drive organizational readiness and adoption
Conduct executive steering meetings
Provide migration playbooks and transition documentation
Required Skills & Experience Functional
12+ years in IT, with 5+ years in Program Management
Experience leading enterprise-scale cloud migrations
Strong knowledge of SDLC and infrastructure lifecycle
Technical
Experience with AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform cloud platforms
Understanding of virtualization, networking, storage, and security
Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
Familiarity
with cloud cost management tools
Leadership
Executive stakeholder management
Budget & financial oversight

Strong communication and negotiation skills
