Role description
PPM Data Migration Analyst
📍 Location: Hybrid – 3 days per week onsite in Wokingham
📅 Start Date: ASAP
📄 Contract: 6 months initial
💷 Rate: £450 per day (Inside IR35)
The Role
Our client is seeking an experienced PPM Data Migration Analyst to support a key transformation programme, migrating project portfolio data from legacy systems into a modern PPM platform.
You will play a critical role in ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and continuity throughout the migration lifecycle, enabling effective portfolio reporting and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
• Analyse and understand source and target PPM systems (e.g. Clarity, Planview, ServiceNow, MS Project Online)
• Define migration strategy, including data mapping, transformation rules, and validation logic
• Perform ETL activities: extract, cleanse, transform, and load project, resource, financial, and portfolio data
• Validate migrated data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency
• Identify and resolve data quality issues
• Collaborate with PMO, IT, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and validate outcomes
• Develop reconciliation reports and track migration progress
• Support system testing phases (SIT, UAT) and post-migration stabilisation
• Document migration processes, mapping specifications, and data dictionaries
• Ensure compliance with governance, data security, and regulatory standards
Key Deliverables
• Data migration plans and mapping documentation
• Cleaned and validated datasets ready for migration
• Migration execution reports and reconciliation dashboards
• Post-migration validation outputs and issue logs
Required Skills & Experience
• Strong hands-on experience in data migration and ETL processes
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and Excel
• Experience with PPM tools such as Clarity PPM, Planview, ServiceNow PPM, Primavera, or MS Project
• Solid understanding of data mapping, transformation, and validation techniques
• Familiarity with ETL/integration tools (e.g. Informatica, Talend, SSIS)
• Knowledge of project portfolio data structures (projects, financials, resources, timelines)
Migration Expertise
• Data profiling and impact analysis
• Legacy data assessment and cleansing
• Data reconciliation and audit tracking
• Cutover planning and rollback strategies
• Managing large datasets and complex transformations
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Data Analytics, Engineering, or related field
• 3-7 years’ experience in data migration, ideally within PPM/PMO environments
• Relevant certifications (Data Management, ETL tools, or PPM platforms) – desirable
Desirable Skills
• Experience with Power BI or Tableau for reporting
• Understanding of Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies
• Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS)
• Automation/scripting experience (Python, PowerShell, VBA)
