Role PurposeThe Data Migration Lead is accountable for planning, designing, delivering, and governing the end-to-end data migration from SAP on-prem to Oracle Fusion Cloud across Finance, Procurement, HCM Core, and Payroll. The role bridges technical and business teams to ensure high data quality, repeatable migration cycles, audit-ready reconciliation, and successful cutover execution.2. Key AccountabilitiesA) Data Migration Strategy & Governance • Define and maintain the Data Migration Strategy (approach, scope, tooling, cycles) • Establish data ownership and sign-off governance by domain (Finance/Procurement/HCM/Payroll) • Define migrate vs archive rules, retention windows, and cutover principles • Own the data migration plan, milestones, RAID, and dependencies B) Data Scope & Mapping (Business + Technical) • Confirm data objects in scope across Finance, Procurement, HCM Core, and Payroll • Lead source-to-target mapping workshops and documentation • Define transformation rules and business validation approach • Ensure alignment of organisational structures, hierarchies, and reference data C) Extraction, Transformation & Load (ETL) • Coordinate SAP extraction methods (reports, table extracts, ETL tooling) • Design staging approach and load sequencing • Ensure Oracle load method is fit-for-purpose (FBDI for Finance/Procurement; HDL/HSDL for HCM) • Define runbooks, error handling, re-runs, and load performance constraints D) Data Quality & Cleansing • Drive data profiling and cleansing activities (duplicates, missing fields, invalid dates, inactive records) • Create and maintain the Data Quality Dashboard and issue log • Ensure compliance with GDPR and data privacy controls for HR/Payroll data E) Reconciliation, Controls & Audit Evidence • Define reconciliation approach (record counts, control totals, balances, payroll YTD) • Maintain audit-ready evidence packs for migration activities and approvals • Own data readiness gates and provide go/no-go input for cutover F) Mock Loads, Dress Rehearsals & Cutover • Plan and execute multiple mock migration cycles and dress rehearsals • Lead final cutover extract, load, and validation activities • Coordinate with Testing and Cutover leads to ensure readiness and execution success G) Stakeholder & Supplier Management • Act as a bridge between business SMEs and technical teams • Manage delivery with system integrator/partner resources (if applicable) • Communicate risks, progress, and decisions to PMO and programme leadership 1. Required Skills & Experience • Proven experience leading ERP data migrations (SAP on-prem to Oracle Fusion preferred) • Strong understanding of SAP FI/MM and master data dependencies • Strong understanding of HCM Core and Payroll critical data controls • Experience with Oracle Fusion load tools: FBDI (Finance/Procurement) and HDL/HSDL (HCM) • Strong reconciliation mindset (control totals, balancing, audit evidence) • Strong stakeholder management with senior SMEs and delivery partners • Advanced Excel skills; SQL/data querying preferred • Understanding of data security, privacy, and GDPR controls 1. KPIs / Success Measures • Mock load success rate ≥ 95% by maturity of cycles • Mandatory field completeness ≥ 98-100% • Payroll control totals matched 100% • Cutover load completed within planned downtime window • Low severity data issues during hypercare 1. Decision Rights • Authority to stop migration runs if quality thresholds are not met • Authority to enforce migration scope rules (active-only, open-items-only) • Authority to require business sign-off before promoting data to the next cycle • Authority to escalate data readiness risks to programme leadership and SteerCo
