Pay is based on relevant experience; 60-70 an hour. We are not looking for SQL DBAs.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• 8+ years of strong SQL development
• Data modelling and design (with SQL)
• Experience moving from legacy databases to on premise (I.E AS400/DB2 to SQL Server)
JOB DESCRIPTION
An employer is seeking a skilled SQL Developer for an ongoing contract in the Chicago area. This role supports both development and data warehousing initiatives, with responsibilities split across two major efforts. The first is legacy Migration: Assist in transitioning data from legacy systems to on-premise SQL Server environments. The second is Cloud Data Warehouse Build: Collaborate on designing and implementing a cloud-based data warehouse, ensuring scalability, performance, and integration with existing systems. Ideal candidates will have strong SQL development experience, familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes, experience with both on-premise SQL Server and cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud).
