Location: Remote (must sit in Eastern or Central Time Zone) Start: ASAP Duration: 3 month contract Pay Rate: $35-50 Overview We’re looking for a hands-on Excel and Power BI expert to support IT resource capacity planning and cost forecasting initiatives. This person will work with large, raw datasets (resource assignments, monthly allocations, project demand, rates, etc.) and turn them into clean, scalable models that support staffing and financial decisions. What You’ll Be Doing • Transform raw Excel data using Power Query • Build robust data models using Power Pivot • Write advanced DAX for: • Monthly cost projections by project • Resource utilization & capacity modeling • Scenario analysis to support staffing plans • Create Power BI reports that answer planning questions, not just display data • Partner with IT / finance stakeholders to refine assumptions and logic Must‑Have Skills • Expert‑level Excel (Power Pivot, Power Query) • Strong Power BI experience beyond dashboards • Advanced DAX (CALCULATE, FILTER, time intelligence, allocation logic) • Experience modeling resources, costs, or capacity over time • Comfortable working with imperfect data and building structure from it Nice to Have • IT or professional services capacity planning experience • Financial or workforce planning models • Stakeholder‑facing analytical work
