This role sits at the intersection of data strategy, governance, and engineering—defining canonical business semantics across trading, risk, finance, and operations platforms. This person will drive standardization across the enterprise, ensuring consistent definitions for trades, products, lifecycle events, parties, and reference data while enabling interoperability across systems. The role requires a strong blend of technical modeling expertise, capital markets knowledge, and governance leadership. Day-to-Day Responsibilities: • Own and evolve the enterprise CDM strategy and roadmap across capital markets • Design and maintain canonical models for trades, lifecycle events, positions, and reference data • Establish and enforce modeling standards (naming, relationships, constraints, definitions) • Lead cross-functional working sessions to align on data definitions across business lines • Manage schema versioning, release processes, and impact analysis for model changes • Drive adoption by creating mapping frameworks and onboarding guidance for systems • Partner with engineering and architecture teams to ensure scalable implementation • Support AI/ML readiness by enabling structured, well-defined, and governed datasets • Prevent “shadow models” and ensure enterprise-wide consistency Notes / Selling Points: • True enterprise-level ownership role (not just hands-on modeling) • Highly visible with senior leadership and multiple LOBs • Strategic + technical blend (rare combo = hard to find, high impact) • Sitting at the core of data standardization across capital markets • Opportunity to influence long-term architecture + AI/data strategy EEO Employer Apex Systems is an equal opportunity employer.
