Senior Data Modeler / Semantic Layer Architect Overview We are seeking a Senior Data Modeler to design and deliver scalable data models that power enterprise analytics, reporting, and AI/ML initiatives. This role partners closely with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into high-performing, well-governed data solutions. Key Responsibilities • Design and develop dimensional data models (star/snowflake), Data Vault, and modern data architecture patterns • Build and maintain semantic layers to enable consistent, self-service analytics (Power BI, dbt, etc.) • Partner with engineering teams to optimize data structures, performance, and scalability across cloud platforms • Support migration from legacy systems to modern cloud-based data environments • Ensure strong data governance, including data quality, lineage, and documentation standards • Collaborate with data science teams to deliver ML-ready datasets and support feature modeling • Work with stakeholders to translate business needs into effective data solutions Required Qualifications • 8+ years of experience in data modeling within enterprise data/analytics environments • Strong expertise in dimensional modeling and data warehousing concepts • Experience with semantic layer tools (Power BI, dbt, LookML, etc.) • Advanced SQL skills and familiarity with cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, etc.) • Experience with ETL/ELT processes and data integration best practices • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally Preferred Qualifications • Experience with streaming/data event architectures (Kafka, CDC, etc.) • Familiarity with data governance and catalog tools (Alation, Collibra, etc.) • Experience supporting AI/ML use cases and feature engineering • Exposure to dbt, CI/CD pipelines, and modern data stack practices Why Join • Opportunity to shape enterprise data strategy and architecture • High-impact role supporting analytics, AI/ML, and data products • Collaborative, cross-functional environment Brooksource, Medasource, and Calculated Hire are part of the Eight Eleven Group family of companies and operate under Eight Eleven Group, LLC.
