Job Title: Senior Data & Knowledge Modeler Location: Plano, TX (hybrid - 3 days/week onsite) Duration: 7 Months – can extend Data Modeler – Intake Notes Required Skills Must Have • 10+ years of experience as a dedicated Data Modeler • Strong SQL skills (minimum 4/5 level) • Experience with data modeling concepts: • Conceptual modeling • Logical modeling • Physical modeling • Strong documentation experience • Experience working with enterprise-level data environments • Strong communication skills • Comfortable working in ambiguous environments Important Candidate must be a true Data Modeler --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Overview Primary Responsibilities: • Model documentation and recommendations • Communicate with key stakeholders to facilitate discussions about data modeling • Data mapping and data discovery • Translates and transforms business requirements into data models (conceptual, logical and physical) • Track technical debt in the data design and recommend approaches to minimize and reduce technical debt • Adhere to existing naming and design standards as well as recommend new standards • Design data models in data modeling tools (e.g. Erwin) • Produce data model documentation using leading modeling tools at various levels including story, subject area, and full data model • Work proactively and independently to address project requirements and articulate issues/challenges to reduce project delivery risks • Work with business and application/solution teams to implement data strategies, build data flows, and develop conceptual/logical/physical data models • Lead and/or participate in data model reviews with various stakeholders • Evaluates database and data and develops the data model appropriately Requirements: • Minimum of 10 year experience in modeling in an operational and analytical environment • Minimum of 10 years of experience with Logical Design demonstrated with large scale, multiple business solutions across divisions or enterprise • Minimum of 10 years prior experience as a data modeler and/or ontologist • Document target state end-end data flows and representations • Ability to create and maintain conceptual data models, high complexity logical and physical data models • Experience with SQL • Bachelors degree in information science, computer science, engineering, or related discipline • Experience in Agile Frameworks (SAFe) • Experience with Erwin, Hackoldae, or ER/Studio • Strong analytical skills • Ability to translate business requirements to technical requirements • Financial Services experience a plus • Comfortable working in ambiguity • Experience as Data Modeler on OLTP relational and data warehouse project • Understanding of emerging technologies, and their associated impact on enterprise environments
