Job#: 3030120 Job Description: Lead Data Modeler Location: Remote (occasional on-site travel to Appleton, WI) Role Overview We are seeking a Lead Data Modeler to play a critical role in defining and evolving enterprise data aligned to key business problems. This position is focused on designing canonical data models, reusable data products, and domain-driven design artifacts that support enterprise analytics and application needs. This is a highly business-facing role, requiring close collaboration with stakeholders across product, business, and engineering teams to establish standardized data definitions, structures, and mappings that enable consistent, scalable data usage across the organization. Key Responsibilities • Partner with business stakeholders, product teams, and technical teams to translate business needs into structured data definitions and models • Define and build canonical data models across key domains (e.g., customer, vendor, product) • Establish data domains, relationships, and key structures using a star schema approach • Identify and document source-to-canonical mappings, ensuring consistency across systems • Define primary keys, relationships, and data structures early in the design process • Collaborate to define business rules, data rules, and semantic logic used in reporting and applications • Support the migration of legacy data warehouse logic (including stored procedures) into a more scalable, modern architecture Required Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Experience: • 4+ years in a data engineering or BI Developer role, including 4+ years of experience in data modeling. • Proven ability to translate business requirements into data definitions and structures. • Strong experience working directly with business stakeholders and product teams. • Experience in data warehouse environments (both legacy and modern) • SQL proficiency with strong analytical/problem-solving ability. • Experience with Databricks or modern cloud data platforms (nice to have). • Exposure to .NET-based application environments (nice to have).
