Role description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Modeler to join our dynamic Data Engineering team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining data models that support our business objectives. This position requires a deep understanding of data modeling principles and practices, as well as a strong foundation in data engineering. The Senior Lead Data Engineering will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity, accessibility, and usability across the organization.
Responsibilities:
• Design and develop robust data models that meet business requirements and enhance data quality.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze data requirements, translating them into effective data models.
• Implement best practices for data modeling, ensuring consistency and standardization across all data assets.
• Work closely with data engineers to optimize data pipelines and ensure efficient data flow.
• Conduct data profiling and analysis to identify data quality issues and recommend solutions.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of data models, data flows, and data dictionaries.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior data engineers and modelers.
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies related to data modeling and engineering.
Mandatory Skills:
• Proficiency in data modeling techniques, including conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
• Experience with data modeling tools such as Erwin, IBM InfoSphere Data Architect, or similar.
• Solid knowledge of SQL and experience with relational databases.
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases and big data technologies.
• Ability to analyze complex data sets and derive actionable insights.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Knowledge of data governance and data quality frameworks.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
• Understanding of machine learning concepts and their application in data modeling.
• Experience in Agile methodologies and project management tools.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications in data modeling or data engineering are a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
