Data Modeller β Financial Services | Glasgow (Hybrid) | Inside IR35
Are you an experienced Data Modeller with a passion for building enterprise-grade conceptual and logical data models? Our financial services client is looking for a skilled professional to join their data architecture team in Glasgow on a hybrid contract basis.
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape strategic data initiatives, ensuring consistency, reusability, and clarity across the organisationβs data landscape.
Role Overview
Youβll be responsible for designing and maintaining high-quality conceptual and logical data models to support enterprise-wide data initiatives. Working closely with business stakeholders and architects, youβll ensure models are robust, standardised, and aligned with governance and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Collaborate with business SMEs and architects to gather and translate requirements into conceptual and logical data models
β’ Participate in data modelling forums to propose and review new data concepts and attributes
β’ Support data catalogue and metadata enrichment activities
β’ Ensure adherence to data modelling standards and best practices
Essential Skills & Experience
β’ 10+ years in conceptual and logical data modelling
β’ Proven experience with data modelling tools (e.g. ER/Studio, Erwin, or similar)
β’ Strong background in retail, investment, private, or corporate banking
β’ Excellent analytical, documentation, and stakeholder management skills
β’ Self-starter with the ability to work autonomously in complex environments
β’ Familiarity with data governance, lineage, and quality standards
β’ Experience in regulated environments (e.g. ECB, GDPR compliance)
Desirable
β’ Hands-on experience with ER/Studio
β’ Exposure to regulatory or risk data programmes
β’ Knowledge of metadata standards and catalogue tools (e.g. Alation)
β’ Understanding of Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles
