Role description
Our client, a global asset management firm, is seeking a Market Data Analyst to join their growing newly created Data Operations team. This role serves as a bridge between Portfolio Operations and IT, working hands-on with SQL, data analysis, and troubleshooting data pipelines. The analyst will manage the ingestion, transformation, and validation of large investment data sets and partner with technology teams to resolve complex data issues and improve system performance. Candidates must have 2+ years of market data experience withing a financial institution with advanced SQL skills (coding, data quality, etc.)
Responsibilities include:
• Review security and market data to identify, resolve, and prevent data exceptions.
• Monitor daily file ingestion into internal systems and troubleshoot missing or delayed data.
• Ensure accuracy of data movement across internal infrastructure and support timely report generation.
• Investigate data issues, determine root causes, and work with IT developers on resolutions.
• Maintain documentation for recurring operational processes and recommend process improvements.
• Analyze workflows to enhance efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
• Gather business requirements and document data needs for enhancements and system updates.
Requirements:
• Strong knowledge of financial data sets (security master, pricing, corporate actions, holdings, transactions, performance, etc.).
• SQL Programming is required for investigation and root-cause analysis.
• Advanced SQL skills for data analysis, quality checks, and root-cause investigation.
• Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and clear documentation.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to streamline and improve data operations processes.
