Role description
Job Title: Data Privacy Lead
Location: Sunbury-on-Thames (Hybrid: 3 days office, 2 remote)
Contract: 6 months (with possible extension)
The Role
Weβre looking for a Data Privacy Lead to help ensure our People & Culture teams handle employee and HR data in line with global privacy laws (GDPR, UK DPA, CCPA, etc.). Youβll act as a trusted advisor, running privacy risk assessments, supporting new HR projects (like AI tools or pay transparency), and making sure policies, audits, and training are in place.
What youβll do
β’ Lead privacy compliance activities within HR and People teams.
β’ Carry out risk assessments (DPIAs, ROPAs) for new systems and processes.
β’ Draft and update privacy notices, manage subject access requests.
β’ Provide guidance on employee/HR data use and works council approvals.
β’ Partner with legal, security, and HR stakeholders on global projects.
β’ Support incident response and embed βprivacy by designβ culture.
β’ Deputise for the Data Privacy Manager when required.
What weβre looking for
β’ 5+ years in data privacy / data protection (international experience is a plus).
β’ Strong knowledge of GDPR, UK Data Protection Act, and US CCPA.
β’ Experience advising on HR/employee data projects.
β’ Skilled at stakeholder management in large/global organisations.
β’ Risk assessment experience (DPIAs, ROPAs, SARs).
β’ Strong project management, detail focus, and communication skills.
β’ Bonus: IAPP CIPP/E or CIPP/US, OneTrust, PDP qualification, HR systems (Workday).
