We're seeking a Data Programme Governance Lead to help us take vision to value and create lasting impact for our international logistics Managed Service client. Please note, this is an initial 3-6 months Inside IR35 PAYE Contract that will require onsite working in London with the client 2 days per week Summary As a Data Programme Governance Lead, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the end-to-end delivery of key data retention and unstructured data initiatives. Your expertise in information governance and data protection will be instrumental in ensuring Royal Mail's compliance with evolving regulatory and customer demands. You Will β€’ Design, implement, and maintain robust data retention policies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and business needs. β€’ Shape the Information Governance strategy and key principles, including guidance for managing unstructured data across the organization. β€’ Coordinate with technology, privacy, data, and other relevant teams to ensure alignment on data governance, data retention, and unstructured data management initiatives. β€’ Ensure that all data retention and unstructured data initiatives meet relevant privacy and data protection regulations, including GDPR compliance. β€’ Lead the creation and implementation of a coherent, organization-wide information governance strategy, focusing on retention and unstructured data. β€’ Work closely with stakeholders internally and externally to ensure buy-in, gather feedback, and maintain alignment with business objectives and regulatory obligations. β€’ Identify risks related to data retention and unstructured data management, and implement mitigation plans to address these risks effectively. β€’ Develop and deliver training programs to ensure employees understand data retention policies, appropriate handling of unstructured data, and compliance requirements. β€’ Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress on data retention and unstructured data initiatives, providing regular reports to senior leadership. Ideally, We'd Like β€’ Experience in data protection and information governance, with a proven track record in data retention or unstructured data management. β€’ Proficiency in working with data mapping tools (e.g., Visio) and data protection software (e.g., Onetrust). β€’ Strong understanding of UK data protection regulations and information governance standards. β€’ Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders across all levels of the organization. β€’ Analytical and project management skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. β€’ Relevant certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM, or other data protection or information/data governance-related qualifications Applicants must be authorized to work in the United Kingdom, without the need for visa sponsorship by North Highland.
