Role description
This Data Protection Manager will sit as part of the wider legal team and will support on all data protection initiatives, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and providing expert guidance on data privacy matters within the legal department.

Description
As part of the international legal team and reporting into the Privacy Counsel, the interim Data Protection Manager will provide operational and strategic privacy support. They will:
• Develop and implement data protection policies and procedures in line with UK GDPR and other applicable regulations.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for all data protection and privacy-related matters.
• Undertake all elements of operational privacy including:
• responding to DSARs
• drafting DPIAs
• Advising marketing on PECR
• ROPAs
• Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance and identify potential risks or breaches.
• Provide expert advice and training to internal teams on data protection best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed privacy-by-design principles in all projects.
• Manage data subject access requests and ensure timely responses.
• Maintain records of processing activities and ensure their accuracy and completeness.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory changes in data protection and advise on their impact.
Profile
A successful Data Protection Manager should have:
• Comprehensive knowledge of UK GDPR as well as other jurisdictions.
• Experience in managing data protection compliance within a consumer business with a real knowledge of consumer data matters.
• Must be comfortable with a full range of privacy activities from responding to DSARs to providing advise to senior stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify and mitigate risks effectively.
• Excellent communication skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
• Proven ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
