β’ 4β7 years of experience in data analysis/assessment using SQL queries, or similar
β’ Advanced skill in communicating in writing, orally, electronically, and in person
β’ 1β3 years of experience leading a team focused on data quality (or similar) efforts
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS:
β’ 1β3 years of experience working with immunization records in either an Immunization Information System, Electronic Health Record, or similar software
β’ 1β3 years of experience in work focused on data exchange of health data (ASCII flat file, HL7, or similar formats)

DESCRIPTION OF ROLE:
This is a position in the Wisconsin Immunization Registry (WIR) unit, within the Division of Public Healthβs Office of Health Informatics (OHI). This position leads data quality efforts on the Data Quality Team.
This includes providing technical consultation at the provider level, maintaining and promoting use of WIR data quality tools, providing regular data quality reports and recommendations, and leading data quality activities. The role will also keep the quality of data within the systemβs Septa matrix.
Program Duties:
Data Quality Activities (45%)
β’ Design, create and manage WIR Data Quality documentation, following unit guidelines and updating as needed based on state and national recommendations.
β’ Lead WIR Unit staff focused on data quality initiatives.
β’ Develop and provide regular, and ad hoc data quality summary reports to the WIR Unit Supervisor.
β’ Provide SQL query support to other WIR teams (DAT Deduplication, Data Exchange, etc.) as needed.
β’ Manage WIR data quality tools/queries, and regularly assess and recommend (if necessary) development changes to the tools/queries.
β’ Provide subject matter expertise for development/maintenance focused on data quality and/or data quality tools.
β’ Maintain the quality of the data in the systemβs Septa matrix.
Technical Assistance and Training (35%)
β’ Direct WIR Unit staff on WIR data quality issue identification and resolution.
β’ Provide direction to WIR providers utilizing data quality assessment report cards.
β’ Train internal users on data quality and systems reporting tools/activities.
β’ Promote the use of WIR data quality tools with internal and external users.
β’ Data Quality Coordination (10%)
β’ Plan and develop data quality and operational improvement projects for the Immunization Information System (IIS), including coordination of quality control reports.
β’ Evaluate program operations related to data quality; recommend actions to improve completeness and accuracy of data and streamline operational processes.
β’ Identify potential risks and difficulties in applying data quality interventions and design strategies to mitigate or avoid them.
WIR Unit Support (10%)
β’ Participate in WIR Unit meetings and project activities.
β’ Provide support to other WIR unit areas as directed by the WIR Unit Supervisor.
