β’ Cost trends and key drivers by portfolio/application
β’ Forecasting (run-rate and forward-looking projections)
β’ Drill-downs for application, owner, subscription/resource group, and other relevant dimensions
β’ Ingest and model cost data from Azure Data Explorer (Kusto/KQL) and design a performant semantic model for reporting.
β’ Lead requirements elicitation with portfolio and application leaders:
β’ Facilitate working sessions to understand βwhat they want to seeβ
β’ Translate needs into report mockups, user stories, and an iterative delivery plan
β’ Define and document business rules (allocation/tagging logic, cost categories, definitions of MTD/forecast, etc.).
β’ Implement report governance basics: refresh approach, access/security, and lightweight documentation for handoff.
Required Skills & Experience
β’ Strong Power BI experience (data modeling, DAX, performance tuning, and dashboard design).
β’ Hands-on experience with Azure Data Explorer and KQL (querying and shaping data for analytics).
β’ Proven ability in stakeholder interviews/workshops and turning ambiguous asks into clear reporting requirements.
β’ Strong communication skills; able to present insights to leaders and iterate quickly.
Preferred
β’ Familiarity with FinOps practices (unit economics, showback/chargeback concepts, cost allocation, optimization signals).
β’ Experience building cost transparency reporting for cloud
