Role description
Job Description Morton is seeking a Data & Reporting Lead to serve as the central point of contact for enterprise reporting, analytics, and data governance initiatives. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of business and technology. The successful candidate will partner with business leaders, reporting users, technology teams, and external vendors to improve reporting capabilities, establish governance processes, and support data-driven decision making. This is not a Data Engineer or Data Architect role. The emphasis is on reporting ownership, stakeholder engagement, analytics enablement, and governance. Key Responsibilities • Serve as the primary point of contact for reporting and analytics initiatives • Manage reporting priorities, intake processes, and enhancement backlogs • Administer and support enterprise reporting platforms • Design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports • Write and troubleshoot SQL queries to validate and analyze data • Support reporting continuity during enterprise application implementations • Coordinate with technical teams responsible for data warehouse and data platform development • Help establish reporting standards, governance processes, and data ownership practices • Partner with business users to understand reporting needs and improve adoption Required Qualifications • Experience developing and maintaining Power BI reports and dashboards • Strong SQL skills • Experience supporting business intelligence, analytics, or reporting functions • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences • Experience gathering requirements and translating business needs into reporting solutions • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Preferred Qualifications • Reporting Manager, BI Analyst, Analytics Lead, Data Governance, or similar background • Familiarity with data warehouses, data lakes, and reporting architectures • Experience working with enterprise reporting portals • Experience supporting operational or field-based organizations What Will Make Someone Successful • Strong business-facing communication skills • Ability to balance technical knowledge with stakeholder management • Passion for data governance and reporting best practices • Ability to create structure and prioritization around reporting requests • Comfortable serving as the organization's reporting subject matter expert
