Data Science Specialist

Job Description Under minimal supervision, this role is responsible for solving complex business problems by thoroughly understanding problem statements and constraints, generating workable hypotheses, and developing data-driven solutions. The position involves building advanced analytical models using statistical, algorithmic, and visualization techniques, and delivering actionable insights to cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities • Analyze complex business questions and translate them into structured, data-driven hypotheses and solutions • Design, develop, and maintain advanced analytical and machine learning models • Apply statistical, algorithmic, and visualization techniques to derive insights • Communicate findings and recommendations to cross-functional and non-technical stakeholders Required Skills and Experience (Top 3) • Proven experience designing and developing advanced analytics and AI solutions using machine learning and deep learning techniques, including natural language processing (NLP) • Hands-on experience with big data and cloud platforms (AWS preferred, Databricks a plus), strong software development skills, and adherence to best coding practices • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to project leads and present insights to non-technical audiences Technical Requirements • Programming: Proficient in Python • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience Preferred Skills and Experience • Ability to translate complex business problems into analytical solutions and decompose them into actionable components • Experience building end-to-end, data-driven solutions from the ground up • Experience developing custom NLP applications using deep learning models, including transformer-based architectures (e.g., large language models / LLMs) • Familiarity with rapid prototyping and demo creation using frameworks such as Streamlit • Prior experience in the healthcare industry preferred Education / Certifications • Bachelor’s degree in data science, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Research, or a related field (required)
