Role description
Our client, a leading Government Systems Integrator, is in need of a Data Scientist for an initial 12 month fully remote contract. The Data Scientist will be working within our customers Solutions & Innovation group. The program itself supports applications which use various OCR technologies such as Tesseract, AWS Textract and multi-model LLM to reach and extract healthcare data from various healthcare forms. The Data Scientist will be responsible for developing machine learning models supporting various healthcare use cases, integration and inclusion of foundational models in developing / improving customers AI applications, researching, designing and developing predictive models using Python, conducting data mining, data preparation in support of identifying and researching fraud, waste and abuse use cases using SQL and other techniques, as well as building reports to summarize analysis.
Required Skills
• Candidates must be US Citizens.
• At least 7 years of experience as a Data Scientist with the ability to provide recommendations for data science strategies as well as hands on modeling.
• Hands-on experience with modeling platforms, specifically with Databricks and AWS SageMaker.
• Hands-on experience with foundational AI models including OpenAI, Anthropic and other LLM to support AI applications.
• Experience using cloud-native tools and services for data science, specifically AWS SageMaker.
• Experience using Spark, Python and R for programming.
• Experience using Machine Learning models including time series modeling, Mlflow and Kubeflow.
• Experience with Snowflake.
Desired Skills
• Fine tuning of large language models.
• Experience developing deep learning models using Pytorch and / or Keras.

The expected hourly rate range for this role is $50 – 74 / hr
