Data Scientist NLP/GenAI Location: Charlotte, NC Work Arrangement: Hybrid Client Industry: Fortune 500 Financial Services Duration: 12 18 Months Contract Schedule: Monday to Friday About the Role: We are hiring a Data Scientist to join our client s advanced analytics and engineering team on a contract basis. This is an exciting opportunity to support one of the most innovative financial services organizations in the U.S. You ll contribute to impactful language-processing initiatives, building and optimizing state-of-the-art NLP and GenAI solutions that help drive key business decisions and automation efforts. Key Responsibilities: • Develop, optimize, and enhance NLP and machine learning models. • Fine-tune open-source Large Language Models and build GenAI-driven solutions. • Design and implement scalable data science workflows and automation pipelines. • Analyze large-scale datasets using big data tools such as Spark and Hadoop. • Move, process, and manage large datasets across distributed systems and databases. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and deliver actionable solutions. • Communicate insights, model performance, and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders. What We Re Looking For • 7+ years of experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar advanced Machine Learning/NLP role. • Strong proficiency in Python and modern Machine Learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, HuggingFace Transformers). • Hands-on experience with NLP techniques, LLMs, GenAI, and fine-tuning open-source models. • Experience with big data technologies such as Spark and Hadoop. • Strong understanding of database environments including SQL and relational systems. • Excellent communication, problem-solving ability, and experience working in enterprise environments. Compensation Hourly Rate: $68.00 $70.00 per hour This range reflects base compensation and may vary based on location, market conditions, experience, and candidate qualifications.
