Role description
A leading technology company is hiring a Data Scientist to help build, evaluate, and deploy machine learning and Large Language Model (LLM) solutions that power personalization and user engagement at scale. This is a highly hands-on role at the intersection of ML, experimentation, statistics, and product analytics, partnering closely with Product, Engineering, and Data Science teams. Type: 12-month contract (potential to convert based on budget) Location: 100% remote (U.S.-based), must work PST hours Responsibilities: β€’ You’ll work in a deeply analytical, high-standard environment where methods and results are carefully reviewedβ€”and where your work can meaningfully impact products used by millions of users. β€’ Build, evaluate, and deploy ML + LLM-driven models into production. β€’ Develop personalization and recommendation approaches to improve user experience and engagement. β€’ Lead experimentation (A/B test design, statistical analysis, and readouts). β€’ Analyze user behavior and feature adoption to identify optimization and growth opportunities. β€’ Apply causal inference methods to measure impact and support decision-making. β€’ Partner with engineering to ensure solutions are scalable, reliable, and production-ready. β€’ Communicate insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. β€’ Own projects end-to-end: from initial hypothesis through deployment, monitoring, and iteration. Qualifications: β€’ PhD + 4+ years industry experience (postdoc considered) β€’ MS + 6–8+ years β€’ BS + 8–10+ years (in a quantitative field such as ML/AI, Statistics, Math, or Computer Science) β€’ Expert Python β€’ Advanced SQL β€’ Experience deploying ML models into production β€’ Hands-on experience with LLMs (evaluation, experimentation, implementation) β€’ Strong statistics background, including: β€’ Experimentation / A/B testing β€’ Causal inference β€’ Familiarity with common ML approaches (e.g., classification/predictive modeling, clustering, random forests) β€’ Experience with large-scale consumer datasets and user interaction data Nice to Have β€’ Background in gaming, streaming/entertainment, subscription businesses, travel, consumer tech, or e-commerce β€’ Experience with recommendation systems, personalization engines, lifecycle optimization, or engagement modeling Perks and Benefits: β€’ Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance. β€’ Life Insurance. β€’ 401(k) Program. β€’ Commuter Benefit. β€’ eLearning and Ongoing Training. β€’ Education Reimbursement. β€’ Eligibility requires working over 30 hours per week on an assignment lasting at least 10 weeks.
