Role description
Westwood Talents is partnering with a leading AI lab to engage independent Data Science Experts for research and applied experimentation. You’ll support data-driven model improvement, performance evaluation, and scalable experimentation workflows.
Location eligibility (must be based in): United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Australia, or New Zealand.
What you’ll do
• Analyze large datasets to surface insights for model refinement
• Build and apply statistical/ML methods and evaluation frameworks
• Assess model performance and review output/data quality
• Create reusable tools for processing, visualization, and reporting
• Collaborate with research teams to test hypotheses and scale experiments
What we’re looking for
• 3+ years in data science, ML, or related analytical work
• Strong Python and core libraries (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn)
• Solid statistics, experimental design, and model validation skills
• Comfort with large-scale data workflows and version control
• Clear written communication and cross-team collaboration
Contract details
• Independent contractor, fully remote, flexible schedule
• Expected commitment: 10+ hours/week
• Weekly payments via Stripe or Wise
• Not able to support H1-B or STEM OPT at this time
